I just love making marks from found and hand made objects. Recently I finished a painting where I stamped the entire background using an apple! And today I’ve completed a painting where I cut my own stamp from a rubber block. Thhe stamping in repetitive patterns is somehow cathartic, but I must admit, I love the simple act of cutting too. That focused work where all that exists is your eyes and the line they are focusing on. Hmmmmm…
Anyway, here’s my latest. I wish I could post a group of these at once, but I can only manage a dribble of work. I’ve posted about that before I know – the ‘time thing’ and how I snatch moments here and there. And so it is at the moment. I have 5 more backgrounds waiting to be painted on, and I shall have to complete them one at a time…
I’ve been challenging myself lately to expand my palette into colours I wouldn’t normally use, so have been particularly trying to use lots of green. Blue – easy peasy. Red, no problemo. Purple? Love it! Green??? hmmm – no thanks – until now that is. I think I could start to fall in love with this colour
