On the weekend I finished my latest painting – Lady in Blue Shawl. I know, I know, pretty dull name! But to be honest, I didn’t want to giver her a name, or place her anywhere in particular, because I wanted to leave that up to the viewer. I think with this painting in particular, each person will see something different, and I didn’t want to give any ‘directions’ as to what should or shouldn’t be interpreted. I put my heart and soul into this one and I’m so pleased with how she turned out. And even better, she now has a permanent home to reside in where she will be greatly loved!
Actually, the lady who bought her is going to send me a photo of her on her wall, which i’d love to post as well. I’ve taken the idea from Mati Rose who has a collection of photographs of her art as displayed in various people’s homes, and I’d love to do the same. So if you happen to be reading this, and also have one of my paintings in your home- send me a photo too and I can post some of them here – I’d love to see them living in their new homes
What projects are you working on lately? Leave a link if you have one – i’d love to see what you’re up to in your part of the global village!
Big luvs,
Donna

She’s fantastic! The fringe on the shawl is wonderful, such a beautiful piece. I can’t wait to see the photo of her in her new home. What a great idea.
It’s great to see her finished , I love the texture the fringe gives her,
The piece is AMAZING-the shawl engulfs me every time I look at it and my eyes want to STAY THERE. I just recently started reading Mati Rose and she is my new ‘crush!’-I am now going through her archives.
