Well I’ve been revelling in my time off this week – the first in a loooong time. It’s been sweet
And I have managed a fair bit of painting, which is nice. What I don’t want to do is find that I have this one-off bulk time and just put the pressure on to churn’emout… I want it to be relaxed and honest, yet using my time practically too, so I’ve been trying to find that balance this week.
I thought I’d share a few (or 4) images of a painting I finished this morning just to show the progression… It’s not like anything I’ve done before but I really like it. It’s quirky, childlike perhaps? I think it would make a great illustration in a children’s book! Anyway, here they are…

Wow, it’s gorgeous! I must say I am loving following your creative adventures! I only discovered you a couple of weeks ago. One of your lovely art pieces was staring at me from a magazine at a news stand at the train station and I just had to buy it! You have definitely inspired my ‘inner artist’, so thank you! And please keep sharing your wonderful creations. S x
Donna~I love it!~
Oh my gosh, I adore this! It’s is so beautiful and I love the patchwork look of the Whale and how you put him underwater without completely covering him up. Adorable!
This is a very happy painting. It makes me happy just to look at it. I agree, it could be in a children’s book.
